Operator notes#

  • MIC + ISIN, the cross-jurisdictional pair to identify a security on a specific venue.

  • LEI is mandated for derivatives reporting (EMIR / Dodd-Frank); look up at GLEIF.

  • Ticker collisions, “MS” is Morgan Stanley on NYSE, Marriott on NYSE, also exists on other venues; always pair with MIC.

  • After-hours vs regular session times differ per venue; futures (CME) trade nearly 24×5; FX is 24×5 by market convention.

  • Settlement, T+1 in the US since 28 May 2024; many others moved with it; T+2 still common in EU pre-October 2027.

  • Sanctions screening, exchange transactions touch sanctions law; brokers screen counterparty LEIs against OFAC SDN.
