Tencent Cloud#
Tencent Cloud is the second-largest public cloud in China and a significant presence across Asia-Pacific. Catalog mirrors AWS; the operator meets it on Chinese-origin workloads, gaming infrastructure (Tencent’s home market), and SEA / India regions where its network is competitive.
Account model#
Tencent Cloud Account, the unit of billing and primary identity scope.
CAM (Cloud Access Management), Tencent’s IAM. Users, groups, roles, policies.
International vs. China are administered separately; Chinese Mainland and International accounts (intl.cloud.tencent.com) do not share identity or billing.

China-specific concerns#
ICP filing is required for public traffic from Mainland China regions.
WeChat / QQ integration is a competitive moat for consumer workloads in China.
International regions (Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, Frankfurt, Silicon Valley, Virginia, Mumbai, Bangkok, Sao Paulo) share the same console as Mainland but operate as separate capacity pools.
When to pick Tencent#
Workloads serving Chinese users, especially in gaming, social, or mobile.
Asia-Pacific (especially Southeast Asia) where Tencent’s network and CDN have strong PoP coverage.
Existing relationships with Tencent through WeChat Pay, WeChat Open Platform, or game-publishing partnerships.
When to pick something else#
Outside Asia-Pacific the support and ecosystem footprint is thinner.
Non-Chinese compliance regimes; Tencent’s accreditation surface is narrower than the big three.
